You can find our office at 27/A N.K.C. Street in Kolkata, right in the West Bengal area. Mrinal Basu is the one who keeps things running here. We deal with building materials, so we spend our days talking about things like cement, additives, and construction chemicals. The office is located in an older part of the city where the streets are always crowded and there is a lot of noise from the passing taxis and buses. Inside, it is a bit cramped because we have samples of different materials stacked up in the corners. We still use an old email address and keep most of our records in handwritten ledgers because that is how we have always done it. It is a bit hot in the summer because the old ceiling fans only do so much, but we are used to the Kolkata weather by now. We do not have any promotional slogans or big posters on the walls. Mostly, we just have calendars and a few photos of the buildings we have supplied materials for over the years. People in the neighborhood know us, and we often have regular customers dropping by just to ask a quick question about a project they are working on. We try to be helpful and give honest advice about what materials will work best for a specific job. It is not a glamorous business, but it is what we know, and we do it every day.
