If you find yourself in Desbandhu Palli, Naihati, you’ll probably see where we work. We are tucked away in this part of North 24 Parganas, right in the heart of West Bengal. The air is always a bit thick with humidity, and the sounds of the neighborhood are constant. We aren't some high-rise consultancy with elevators and security guards. It’s a simple setup where we sit down and talk to people about what they need. Most of our day is spent on the phone or writing things down in ledgers. We have some old wooden chairs for visitors and a table that’s seen better days. It feels like home because it practically is. We know the local people, and they know where to find us if they have a question. The power cuts out sometimes in the summer, so we keep hand fans nearby to stay cool while we work. It’s not a fast-paced environment where everyone is rushing around. We take things as they come, one client at a time. The street outside can get a bit muddy during the monsoon, but life goes on. We don't use big words or try to impress anyone with fancy talk. We just listen to what people are looking for and see how we can help them out. It’s just us here in Naihati, doing what we know how to do day after day.
