Ambuja Cements Limited

You can find us at Fb 13/2 in Falguni Abasan, which is over in Salt Lake City, Kolkata. This is a residential block, so our office is basically in an apartment building. It makes for a bit of a different work environment than a big office block. We are part of the Ambuja Cements team here in West Bengal. Salt Lake is a planned area, so the streets are laid out in a grid, but it still has that busy Kolkata feel once you get out on the main roads. We mostly deal with the sales and orders for the local market from this office. It’s a small space, quite cramped with all the files and folders we have to keep. We use the dining area as a main workspace and the rooms for meetings or storage. It’s a bit informal, but it works for us. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood, like people shouting for the fishmonger or kids coming home from school. We like it because it feels like being part of the community. Getting to work is easy enough since the buses and rickshaws are always running. We don't have a big fancy lobby or a receptionist, you just walk in and talk to whoever is at their desk. It’s a very direct way of doing business. We focus on our local customers and make sure their cement gets delivered on time to the site.
