Vagdevi High School

We are located on Sai Temple Road here in Kamareddy. It’s a nice area, usually pretty quiet except for when the temple has a festival or something going on. The school is a high school, so we have students from the local neighborhoods coming in for their daily lessons. The building is a simple structure with several floors. We don't have an elevator, so everyone gets their exercise walking up and down the stairs all day. Each classroom has rows of wooden benches that have seen a lot of use over the years. We try to keep the place looking decent, but with so many kids around, there is always some wear and tear. Our teachers are mostly local folks who have been teaching for a long time. We focus on the main subjects and try to get the students through their board exams without too much trouble. It’s a lot of memorization and practice, which is just how the system works here. We have a small playground where the kids can run around during their break time. In the summer, it gets quite hot, so we are thankful for the big windows that let a breeze through. It’s not a complicated operation. We just open the gates in the morning and do our best to teach the kids until it’s time for them to go home to their families.
