Vagdevi Model School

We’ve been here in Yedapally for a while now, tucked right behind the police station. It's a busy spot but we manage. Most mornings you’ll see parents dropping off their kids on scooters and the whole street gets a bit crowded. We have a simple building with enough rooms for the different classes. The teachers here mostly live nearby so everyone knows everyone. It isn't a fancy place with big glass windows or anything. We just have the usual desks, blackboards, and a small area where the kids play during the break. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in, but that’s just how it is in Nizamabad. We try to keep the fans running when it’s hot, which is most of the time. The kids are loud, especially when the bell rings for lunch. We don’t have a massive playground, but they make do with the space we have out front. It’s just a normal school where we try to get through the lessons every day. Most of us have been working here for years, so we’ve seen a lot of these kids grow up from small toddlers to teenagers. It feels like a small community inside these walls. We don't do much advertising; people usually just hear about us from their neighbors. It's just a regular part of the neighborhood here. We don't have a big cafeteria, so the kids eat their lunches at their desks. On rainy days, the ground gets a bit muddy, but we just put down some mats.
