Plot No. Z-154 in Loha Mandi is where you can find us most days. Vishnu Steel Co. has been part of the Naraina Industrial Estate for as long as I can remember. Loha Mandi is a crazy place, honestly. There are trucks everywhere, people shouting, and the constant sound of steel hitting steel. It’s not the kind of place you come if you want a quiet day at the office. We spend our hours loading and unloading heavy rods and sheets. My hands are always covered in that thin layer of rust and oil, and no matter how much I wash them, it never quite goes away. The office is just a tiny box with a fan that clicks every time it turns. We keep the ledger on a high shelf so it doesn't get dirty from the floor. It’s hard work, especially when the sun is beating down on the tin roofs of the estate. We don't use much technology here, just the old scales and our own eyes to check the quality of what we are buying and selling. People come in looking for a deal, and we haggle a bit because that’s just how it’s done in the market. It’s an honest way to make a living even if it’s exhausting by the afternoon. By the time evening rolls around, we are all ready to head home and get some rest before doing it all again.
