Sunav Steel Pvt. Ltd. operates from the first floor of the Ashoka Complex, located at Y-9/9 in Loha Mandi. As the name of the area suggests, this is the heart of the steel trade. You can hear the sounds of heavy trucks and iron being moved all day long. Being on the first floor gives us a bit of a view of the chaos below. Our office is practical—filled with ledgers, samples of steel sections, and a few old chairs for visitors. We don't go for the corporate look. The walls have a few calendars and charts pinned up. We spend most of our time on the phone or talking to traders who come up the stairs. The air in Loha Mandi is always thick with the smell of metal and diesel. We’ve been part of this market for a while now and have seen many businesses come and go. Our team is small, mostly just a few people handling the sales and the accounts. We don't have a big mission statement; we just focus on getting the right steel to the right people at a price that works for everyone. Sometimes the elevator in the complex doesn't work, so we end up taking the stairs a lot. It’s a tough, gritty business environment, but it’s what we know. We close up once the main market activity dies down in the evening.
