Canam

We've been here at Vasant Kunj for quite some time now. Our office is tucked away in the D-8 block, near the main market area. Most days, it’s just a few of us sitting around desks, handling paperwork and answering phone calls from people looking for help with their plans. It gets a bit busy around noon when the sun is high and everyone starts dropping in. We started Canam because we saw a lot of folks in New Delhi struggling with all the confusing forms and requirements for going abroad. It’s not fancy here. Just some chairs, a couple of old computers, and plenty of tea to keep us going through the afternoon slump. We try to be straight with people who come in. If something isn't going to work, we just tell them. It's better than giving anyone the wrong idea. Sometimes the traffic outside gets pretty loud, especially being so close to the main road, but you get used to it after a while. Most of our regulars are from the nearby neighborhoods, though some travel quite a distance just to sit down and chat with us. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. Just the name on the door. It’s a small operation, but it keeps us on our toes. We spend a lot of time checking documents and making sure everything is in order before we send things off. It's honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening.
