Thakalis Art Gallery

Thakalis Art Gallery is located at Vasant Vihar Poorvi Marg 37. It’s a quiet part of the neighborhood, which is good for a place like this. The building is older but we keep it tidy. Inside, there are a lot of frames on the walls and some sculptures sitting on wooden blocks. I spend my mornings dusting the frames and making sure the lights are pointed in the right direction. It’s not a very big space, but it’s enough for what we have. People walk in occasionally, mostly neighbors or people who are interested in looking at something different. We don't have a lot of noise here, unlike the main roads. I usually sit at the small desk near the entrance and wait. Sometimes people ask questions about who made the pieces, and I tell them what I know from the notes we have. The floor is made of dark wood and it creaks a little when you walk on it. It’s a slow kind of business. Some days nobody comes in at all, and I just spend the time organizing the back room or cleaning the glass. We don’t do big events or anything loud. It is just a shop for art. The paintings change every few months when we get new things in. It’s a nice way to spend the day, surrounded by colors and quiet. I don't really try to sell things hard; if someone likes a piece, they usually say so.
