Suman Eco Crafts

Suman Eco Crafts is tucked away at -111/9 in Kishan Gargh, right near the primary school. You can usually hear the kids playing during their break times, which is a nice sound to have in the background. We make things by hand here, mostly using natural materials that don't hurt the environment. The workshop is often a bit of a mess with bits of thread, fabric, and scraps of wood lying around. We try to sweep up every evening, but by noon the next day, it’s back to how it was. It’s just how craft work goes. There are a few of us who sit by the windows to get the best light for the detailed parts. We don't use big machines that make a lot of noise. It’s more about using your hands and being patient with the materials. Sometimes a piece doesn't turn out right and we have to start over, but that’s part of the process. We don't have a fancy storefront, just the place where we work. People from the neighborhood sometimes drop by to see what we’re making. We like being near the school and the local shops. It feels like a real community. We aren't trying to become a giant factory; we just like making these items and sending them out to people who want something a bit different. It’s a slow way to work, but it suits us just fine.
