Innovative Candles

We are up on the second floor of C 5/2 in Vasant Kunj. It’s not a huge place, but it works for what we do with the candles. Most days start with melting wax and making sure the wicks are set right. There is a lot of waiting around for things to cool down. Sometimes the smell of the different scents is quite strong, so we usually have the windows open if the weather is okay. We’ve been in this part of Vasant Kunj for a bit now. People often walk past the building and don’t even realize we are up here working. It’s a pretty quiet spot for the most part, which is nice when you’re trying to concentrate on getting the colors just right. The floor gets a bit messy with wax drippings no matter how careful we are. We just sweep it up at the end of the day and start over the next morning. It’s a simple setup. We don't have fancy machinery, mostly just hands and a few basic tools. It gets hot in the summer with the heaters going, but we manage. We aren't doing anything world-changing, just making things that people might like to put in their homes. It keeps us busy and the routine is something we’ve grown used to over time. Even the delivery guys sometimes struggle to find the right entrance, but once they know where we are, it’s fine. We like it here well enough.
