Bharat Lace Makers

We are Bharat Lace Makers, located up on the 1st floor at 19/3B in Shakti Nagar. It's a bit of a climb up the stairs, but that's where we do all our work. Making lace takes a lot of patience and we've been doing it here for quite a while. The room is usually filled with the sound of the bobbins and the thread. It’s not a very big space, but it’s enough for what we need. We don't have a storefront on the ground level, so you have to know where you're going to find us. We mostly deal with local folks and some regulars who have been coming to us for years. There isn't any fancy corporate talk here. We just sit and work on the designs. Sometimes the lighting isn't the best, but we make do with what we have. My cousin helps me out with the orders. We spend a lot of time just looking at the patterns and making sure nothing is tangled. It’s a slow kind of work, but it’s what we know. Shakti Nagar is a decent place to be based. We aren't trying to become some huge company. We just want to keep making our lace and keeping the business going. It’s a lot of sitting and a lot of focus.
