Working out of Big Jos Towers in Netaji Subhash Place means we’re always in the middle of a lot of noise. Our office is A-6 on the No. 6 floor, and getting the elevator in the morning can be a real wait if you don’t time it right. It’s a busy building with a lot of different people coming and going. Inside our space at Aks Textiles Pvt. Ltd., it’s mostly just desks, phones, and a lot of paperwork related to the textile trade. We don't have a big lobby or anything like that. It’s a bit cramped when we have all the samples laid out on the tables. You can hear the hum of the air conditioner all day, which is a blessing in the Delhi heat. Sometimes the internet acts up or the printer jams right when we need it, which is annoying but that’s just life in an office. We eat our lunch at our desks mostly, or sometimes go down to the local stalls nearby if we have the time. The view from the window is just other buildings and the metro line, but it feels like the heart of things. We’ve been in this tower for a few years and the security guards know us by name now. It’s a practical setup for what we do. No fancy carpets or expensive art, just the stuff we need to get through the day’s tasks.
