Sarvodaya Metal Industries

We have been sitting here at GT Road 16/487 for a long time now. The metal business is not easy work, honestly. It’s loud every day because of the cutting machines and people dropping heavy sheets of iron on the floor. Sarvodaya Metal Industries is basically a big shed in Shahdara Dilshad Garden where we keep all the stock. Most days it’s just me and a couple of boys moving things around. My father used to sit in that same corner chair and now I do. We handle different kinds of aluminum and steel sections. Sometimes the dust gets a bit much but you get used to it after a year or two. The neighbors are mostly other workshops so nobody complains about the noise we make. If you walk down the main road, you will see our gate. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. Just a place with a lot of metal and a small desk where I keep the accounts. We don’t really do much advertising because people around here just know where we are. When the trucks come to unload, it gets a bit chaotic with the traffic. We just try to get the work done before the sun goes down because the lighting isn't great inside the back area. It’s a simple life, mostly just dealing with scrap and orders from local builders who need basic materials for their projects. Sometimes we get special requests for gate designs, which takes more time.
