Our place, Research India Press, is tucked away at E-6/34 in Sangam Vihar. It’s not the easiest address to find if you aren't familiar with the area, as the lanes can get a bit confusing. Inside the press, it’s a different world from the busy streets outside. It’s mostly the sound of paper moving through rollers and the smell of fresh ink. We do a lot of printing work here, and there are stacks of books and papers piled high on almost every flat surface. We don't have a fancy lobby with chairs; usually, if someone visits, they just stand by the main desk while we finish up a print run. Sangam Vihar is a lively place, and we’ve been part of this neighborhood for quite a while now. We aren't a huge operation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a few of us who know how to run the presses and handle the binding. Sometimes the machines act up, and we have to spend half the day fixing a jam, but that’s just part of the business. We take things as they come and don't get too stressed about the deadlines. When a big job is finished and boxed up, it feels good to see the empty space on the floor before the next one starts. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy websites. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they live nearby and see us working. It's a good way to live.
