Akanksha Books

Our little shop, Akanksha Books, is at Wz-C/1 in Patel Garden. It is a quiet corner compared to the main roads, which is nice for a place that deals with books. We have stacks of paper and rows of shelves that seem to go all the way to the ceiling. It is not a big corporate bookstore where everything is perfectly categorized and alphabetized. Sometimes a stack of books might be sitting on the floor for a few days before we find a spot for it. We like the smell of old and new paper that fills the room. People who come in usually are not in a rush. They like to look through what we have on the shelves. We do not do a lot of advertising or shouting about our shop. Word of mouth from people in Patel Garden is how most folks find us. It is just a one-room operation for the most part. We handle everything ourselves, from ordering the stock to dusting the shelves. Some days are slow and we spend the time reading or organizing, and other days we are busy helping students or parents find what they need. We are not trying to be the biggest book seller in the city. We just want to be the place where you can find a good book without any trouble. It is a peaceful way to spend the day, surrounded by stories and information. We have been here at Wz-C/1 for a while.
