Kumar Book Centre

Our place is Shop No. 16 in Old Rajinder Nagar. We are right across from the Mother Dairy, which is how most people find us. Neeraj Opticals is also nearby. We’ve been here for a while and the shop has become a bit of a fixture on this street. We mostly stock books for the students who live around here, but we have a bit of everything. The shop isn't very large, so we have to use every inch of wall space for shelving. It gets a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone is out for their walks or getting milk from across the street. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything. We just sell books and try to make sure we have the ones people are actually looking for. Sometimes the deliveries are late and the shelves look a bit bare, but we manage. It’s just me and one other person working here most days. We handle the customers, do the cleaning, and try to keep the books from falling over. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed. We know the other shopkeepers on the block and we all just do our own thing. It is a decent way to spend the day. If you need a book or just want to see what's new, you just walk in. There is no pressure. It's just a standard book center in a busy neighborhood.
