Raj Book Store

Being in a place like Delhi means there is always a lot of noise and people moving around. Raj Book Store is our small corner in the city where things are a bit different. We have shelves full of all kinds of books piled up. Some are new and others have been sitting there for a while waiting for the right person to come along. It’s not a huge shop with bright lights and fancy displays. It is more of a place where you have to look through the stacks to find what you want. We spend most of our day organizing the stock or talking to people who drop in while they are out in the neighborhood. Some days are very busy with students looking for things and other days it is just us drinking tea and waiting for the next delivery. Running a book shop in New Delhi keeps you on your toes because people always want something specific. We try to keep track of everything but sometimes the piles get a bit messy. That is just how it is when you have so many pages in one small space. We have been doing this for years and it’s what we know. You can find us easily enough if you are in the area. It’s a simple life surrounded by paper and ink and we like it that way. Most people just walk in off the street when they have a little time to kill.
