Empire Book Depot

Empire Book Depot is tucked away at Shop No-74 in the Janpath Market. If you know Janpath, you know how crowded and loud it gets with all the shoppers and tourists. Our shop is one of those small spots that is just full of books from top to bottom. We don't have a lot of walking space inside, so you have to be careful not to knock over a pile of magazines when you turn around. We’ve got everything from old novels to school supplies squeezed onto the shelves. Most days, we are busy helping people find specific titles or just chatting with the regulars who stop by to see what’s new. The market has its own energy, and we are right in the middle of it. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the front door, so we keep some plastic sheets handy to cover the displays. It’s a simple life, opening up the shutters in the morning and closing them late in the evening. We don't bother with fancy uniforms or anything like that; we just wear what’s comfortable for a long day on our feet. The air is always a bit thick with the smell of old paper and the street food from outside. It’s a lived-in kind of place, nothing like those big modern stores you see in the malls. We just like being part of the market and seeing the different faces that walk in every day.
