R. K. Glass & Aluminium Works

We are located at Shop No. 2 in Amar Singh Market. It is right across from the B-7 petrol pump in Vasant Kunj, which is a landmark everyone knows around here. Working at R. K. Glass & Aluminium Works means there is always the sound of metal being cut or glass being snapped. It’s a small shop and we have to use every inch of space we have. There are aluminum frames leaning against the walls and glass offcuts in bins near the back. We try to keep it organized, but when we’re busy, things just end up wherever they fit. The market is always crowded, so there’s a lot of energy and noise coming from the other shops. We have a couple of guys who are really good with their hands and they spend the whole day measuring and fitting things together. We don’t have a fancy website or anything like that. Most of our work comes from people walking by or neighbors telling their friends about us. We keep a small radio on the shelf that mostly plays old songs. The floor is usually covered in tiny shavings of metal that we have to sweep up every couple of hours so nobody slips. It’s a honest day’s work and we take pride in getting the measurements right the first time. Sometimes we stay late to finish a frame for someone who needs it the next morning, but that’s just part of the job.
