Dhanraj Glass & Plywood Store is located at R-73 East Vinod Nagar Main Road, right near Khichripur. It’s a busy street. We have glass sheets leaning against the walls and plywood stacked up high. You have to watch your step. We cut things to size right here. The sound of the saw is pretty constant during the day. Sawdust gets everywhere, even in our hair. We don't have a fancy waiting area. People usually just stand around and talk while we get their order ready. Most of our customers are local carpenters or people doing up their own flats nearby. We’ve known some of them for ten years or more. It’s a family-run place. My father started it and now I'm here most days. We don't do any big marketing. The sign out front is a bit faded but everyone knows it's us. We get the glass from the big distributors and try to keep a good variety. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult because we have to cover everything up fast. It’s a simple way to make a living. We just try to be helpful and get the measurements right. That's the main thing in this business. If we make a mistake, we fix it. No point arguing. We like the rhythm of the work. The smell of fresh cut wood is something you just get used to after a while.
