Back in Karol Bagh, we have another spot at No. 2547/6 on the second floor of a building in Beadonpura. This is Admantine Jewels. Being on the second floor means we are a bit removed from the immediate chaos of the street, but you can still hear the shouting and the engines below. The climb up is good for the legs, I suppose. The office is just one main room where we keep our tools and the jewelry we are working on. We have a couple of big windows that look out, but there isn't much to see except other buildings and tangled wires. We spend our days mostly at the workbench. There is a lot of dust from the polishing and grinding, so we are always wiping things down with a rag. We don't have a showroom with fancy lights or glass cases everywhere. It is more of a workshop feel. We have a small desk where we do the billing and talk to the occasional visitor. Most of our work is for other businesses or people who have known us for a long time. We don't do much in the way of promotion or ads. The building is old, and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it doesn't really matter for the work we do. We come in early, make some tea, and start on the orders. By the time evening comes, we are tired and ready to close up the heavy metal door. It is just a regular job in a busy part of Delhi.
