We are over in New Delhi, right in the 110001 area. This is the very center of the city, so things are always moving fast around here. Our office for Jindal Steel And Power Limited is tucked into one of those busy streets where you can never find a parking spot. It’s a noisy place with cars honking and people rushing by all the time. The office itself is pretty basic. We’ve got a few desks, some old cupboards for the files, and a lot of phone lines that never seem to stop ringing. It’s not like those fancy corporate offices you see in the movies. It’s more of a functional space where we get the real work done. The carpet is a bit worn out in the high-traffic areas, and the walls are covered with calendars and maps. We spend our days coordinating between different sites and making sure the paperwork is in order. It’s a lot of talking on the phone and typing away at keyboards. Sometimes it feels like we’re right in the middle of a beehive. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist to greet you. You just come in, find a chair, and tell us what you need. It’s a very practical environment. We’ve been here for a good while now, and despite the chaos of being in central Delhi, we like the energy of the place. It keeps us on our toes. There is always someone coming in.
