Jai Balaji Industries

Our workshop is tucked away in Gali Number 18 in Mahabir Nagar. It’s a bit of a maze back here in Krishna Park, especially if you aren’t from this part of New Delhi. We’ve got our unit at Wz-33A/2, and it’s usually pretty loud once the machines start running in the morning. My father started this, and now I’m the one looking after the daily stuff. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s mostly just the sound of metal and the smell of oil. The workers have been with us for a long time, so we all know how things work without having to talk too much. We do our best to get the orders done on time, though sometimes the machines break down and we spend the whole afternoon covered in grease trying to fix a belt. The street outside is narrow, so getting trucks in and out is always a headache. We often have to coordinate with the neighbors so nobody gets blocked in. It’s a lot of physical labor and staying on your feet all day. When it rains, the gali gets a bit muddy, but we just keep the shutters half-down and carry on. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from sunrise to late evening. We don't have a website or anything, just this physical space where things get made and fixed by hand.
