Harbel India

We are on the first floor of B-133 in Mayapuri Phase 1. If you’ve ever been to Mayapuri, you know it’s a lot of metal and machines and people working hard. Our spot is just one of many in this big industrial patch of Delhi. We’ve been here at Harbel India for quite some time now. To get to us, you have to go up a flight of stairs that could use a bit of a scrub, but it gets you there. Inside, we have our desks and a bit of storage space. It’s not a fancy corporate setup with glass walls. It’s more of a place where we drink a lot of tea and try to get through the daily list of chores. The noise from the workshops downstairs comes up through the floorboards, so it’s never really quiet. We’ve grown used to it though. We handle our business mostly through word of mouth and people we’ve known for years. We don’t really go in for big promises or polished brochures. We just do the work we are given and hope it’s enough. Most of the team has been here since the start. We’re just regular people trying to make a living in the city. It’s a tough area but we like the energy of it. If we aren't at our desks, we're probably downstairs checking on something or grabbing a quick bite at the stall.
