Our place is at 16/1 on Doctors Lane, right near Gole Market. It is a bit quieter back here compared to the main circle, which we actually like. Ascetic Cottage Arts has been around for some time, and the office feels like a second home to most of us. There are piles of samples and stacks of folders everywhere you look. We work with a lot of different artisans and people who make things by hand. Sometimes the samples don't arrive on time or they look different than we expected, so there is always some problem to solve. We sit at these old wooden desks that have probably been here for thirty years. The walls are covered with sketches and notes pinned up over the years. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist in a uniform. If the doorbell rings, whoever is closest just goes and opens it. We spend a lot of time talking about materials and how things are made. It’s a slow process sometimes, but we aren't in a huge rush. Gole Market is a great area because you can get almost anything you need just by walking a few blocks. We usually stay late most evenings just to finish up the last bits of work. It’s not a perfect office, but it’s ours and we are comfortable here.
