Academy Of Applied Arts

Satya Niketan is always full of energy because of the South Campus nearby. We are at number 13, and the Academy Of Applied Arts is right in the middle of that student vibe. You can walk here from the Dhaula Kuan side pretty easily. The walls are covered in student work and sketches, which makes the place look a bit messy but in a good way. We have tables that are stained with paint and glue because that’s just what happens when you are making things. It’s not a quiet, sterile environment. There’s usually music playing from someone’s phone and a lot of talking. We spend our time moving supplies around and making sure there’s enough light for everyone to see their projects. The chairs are mostly wooden and not very comfortable for sitting too long, so people stand up a lot. We don’t have a big front desk or a receptionist. Usually, you just walk in and find someone covered in charcoal or pencil dust. The neighborhood has a lot of small cafes, so the smell of fried food often drifts in through the windows. It’s a busy, cramped, and creative spot. We keep the doors open when the weather is nice, even if the street noise gets a bit much. It’s just part of being in this part of town.
