We are located at the Davars Campus within the industrial area. It is a very busy spot with large trucks and vans coming and going at all hours. Inside our space, we focus entirely on making food ingredients. There is usually a faint, sweet smell of vanilla or sugar in the air, depending on what the machines are processing that day. The whole facility is mostly made of stainless steel and white tiles, which we have to scrub down constantly to keep clean. It is never a quiet place because the mixers and the packaging lines are always running and making a lot of noise. We have a tiny office section near the front, but most of us spend our time out on the production floor. Working in an industrial zone means everything is very practical and straightforward. We don’t have any decorations or pictures on the walls. We spend our days wearing uniforms and hairnets. It involves a lot of heavy lifting and keeping a close eye on the temperature gauges. We have been in this spot for a good while, so we have seen the campus grow and change around us. Our neighbors are all other factories, so there is always a lot of activity and shouting. We get our raw materials in large bags and send out the finished ingredients to bakeries. It is a long, tiring day, but it’s what we do.
