Shiv Sai Flour Mill

Our shop is located in Eden Park on Rama Kalu Shahadkar Marg in Airoli. We are right there in Sector 8. Most of the people living in the nearby buildings know us. The mill has been part of our daily life for a long time. We start the day by clearing out the leftover bits from the day before and getting the motor warmed up. It is a noisy place to work, but we are used to it by now. You have to speak up to be heard over the grinding stones. We take in whatever the customers bring, usually wheat or maize, and turn it into flour while they wait. The space is small, so it can get crowded when three or four people are waiting at the same time. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and lifting heavy weights. By the evening, our hands are usually white from the flour. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just find us by walking past or hearing about us from their neighbors. Sometimes the power cuts in the afternoon and we just have to sit and wait with the customers until it comes back on. It’s a simple way to earn a living. We just focus on the work and keeping the machines in good shape so everyone can get their flour without waiting for too many hours.
