Shri Renuka Gruh Udyog

We are set up at Plot No. 14-B in the Bhoiraj Society. We are tucked away behind the Rathchakra Society in the Indira Nagar area. Since it’s a residential society, it’s much quieter here than out on the main roads. You can hear the neighborhood kids playing and the sounds of people going about their daily lives. We run a small gruh udyog, which basically means it’s a home-based industry. The house always smells like roasted grains or fresh spices, depending on what we are making that morning. We use the back area of the plot for most of the work. There are large steel containers everywhere and we do a lot of the sorting by hand. It’s a family-type atmosphere here. We don’t have a big sign or a fancy storefront. Most people find us because they live nearby or they’ve heard about us from a neighbor. We spend hours sitting on low stools, cleaning lentils or packing small bags. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to dry things out in the yard, so we have to move everything inside. We just take it one day at a time and try to get the orders ready for the local shops. It’s a peaceful way to work, being right here in the middle of the society where everyone looks out for each other.
