Jay Rice Traders

We spend most of our days down at Plot No F-9 in the APMC Market-2nd. It is a busy place, especially in Phase-2nd where things never seem to stop moving. If you walk by Jay Rice Traders, you will see a lot of stacks of bags and people running around with clipboards. It gets pretty dusty inside when the trucks are unloading, but that is just how it goes in a wholesale market. My desk is usually covered in receipts and small samples of grain that I need to check. We have been in this spot for a while now. The coffee shop across the way is where we usually grab a quick drink when the morning rush settles down a bit. Sometimes the sun hits the corrugated roof and it gets a bit warm, so we keep the big fans going all day. Dealing with rice means you are always thinking about the weather and the crops coming in from the farmers. We don't have a fancy front office or anything like that. It is just a workspace where we get the job done. Sometimes the phones ring too much and other times it is quiet enough to hear the birds outside. We just handle the stocks and make sure the deliveries go out to the local shops on time. It is honest work and it keeps us on our toes from Monday to Saturday. Most of the time, we are just focusing on the next load coming in.
