Surabhi Engineering Company

Surabhi Engineering Company is situated on Plot No. H-4. We are right near Shivaji Nagar in the M. I. D. C. area of Satpur. It’s one of those older industrial patches where the trees have actually grown quite tall around some of the buildings. Our plot is pretty easy to find once you get into the Satpur lanes. The building has been here for a good while, and it shows a little bit of age, but it’s sturdy. Every morning, the first thing we do is check the oil levels and get the power running to the heavy gear. There’s a certain way the floor feels under your boots—solid and worn down in the spots where people stand the most. We are close to the Shivaji Nagar side, so we sometimes hear the sounds from the residential area nearby mixing with the clanking of our metal work. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s a productive one. We don’t have a lot of office staff; it’s mostly just us in the workshop. We keep our tools organized on the wall, though someone always manages to misplace a wrench by noon. The tea break is the highlight of the afternoon when we sit outside the main door of H-4 and watch the other workers in the MIDC heading home or starting their next shift. We’ve stayed here because it’s a good location for what we do.
