Our workshop for Uma Engineering is located at Block No. 15 in the NDCC Colony. This is over in Taluka Kalwan. It’s a bit of a drive if you aren't from around here, but the colony is a well-known landmark for the locals. We do a lot of the standard engineering work that you’d expect from a place like this. There’s usually a fair bit of noise from the machines, especially in the mornings when we first get started. The building itself has seen better days, but the equipment inside is what matters. We’ve got benches covered in tools and parts waiting to be put together. It’s not a clean-room environment by any means. There’s grease and metal shavings around, which is just how an engineering shop should look. We don't have a dedicated receptionist, so usually, one of the guys will come out to see what’s needed. Kalwan is a quiet taluka, and we’ve fit in here quite well over the years. Most of our work comes from surrounding businesses that need repairs or custom parts made up. We don't make big promises; we just take the job, look at the specs, and get to work. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living, and we’re happy to keep at it as long as there’s work to do. We are just local people providing a practical service to the community.
