Cambay Spa & Resorts

Down in Tallital, Nainital, you’ll find our office near Taralodge in the Cantt area. Working in Uttarakhand means we have to deal with the hills and the changing weather every single day. Our office is a small place that we’ve used for Cambay Spa & Resorts for quite some time. It’s not one of those modern buildings you find in the plains. It’s a bit older, with windows that sometimes rattle when the wind picks up off the lake. We spend our days coordinating everything from here, making sure the supplies are ordered and the bookings are handled correctly. It’s a quiet area mostly, though it gets a bit more active when the tourists arrive in the summer months. We don't have a lot of staff in this particular office, just a few of us who know the ropes. We drink a lot of tea to stay warm when the mist rolls in. The work is mostly on the computer or filling out logs by hand. We aren't trying to be something we're not. We just run the business from this little corner of Nainital and try to keep everything organized. Sometimes the roads are difficult, so we have to plan ahead for everything. It’s a different pace of life up here, and our office reflects that. We just do our best to stay on top of the paperwork. We can see the trees swaying from the window, and sometimes the monkeys climb across the roof.
