You can find us at Fairhavens, which is right next to the Head Post Office. Chevron Hotels Rsorts is run by people who actually live around here and know the area. Our place has a lot of history to it, and you can see it in the walls and the old-style architecture. It’s not one of those new, shiny hotels that all look the same. We have some creaky floorboards and windows that sometimes stick when it’s rainy. The gardens need a lot of work depending on the season, but we try to keep the paths clear. Guests come here because it’s quiet and away from the main noise of the town. We spend a lot of time making sure the rooms are ready and the kitchen has what it needs for breakfast. Sometimes the power goes out when there’s a storm, but we have candles and flashlights ready. It’s a bit of an old-fashioned way of running a business, but it suits us. We don’t have a big staff with uniforms; it’s mostly just a few of us who have been here forever. We know the best spots to walk and where to get a good cup of tea.
