Alka The Lake Side Hotel

I’m writing this from the front desk here at Alka The Lake Side Hotel. We are situated right on The Mall, which most people around here know is the main stretch. Being at 263002 means we see a lot of folks passing by every single day. The lake is right across from us, so that’s the main view we deal with. It isn’t always quiet, especially when the tourists arrive in droves, but we just keep at it. My family and the staff have been looking after this place for a good bit now. We spend most of our mornings checking the rooms and making sure the water is running right. It’s an old building in some ways, so there is always something to fix or a lightbulb that needs changing. We don't have a fancy marketing team or anything like that. It's just us. Sometimes the mist comes off the water and hides the whole road. Those are the quietest mornings. We usually just sit and wait for the first guests to come down for tea. It’s a simple life here on the edge of the water. We try to keep the lobby tidy, though the floors get tracked with dirt pretty fast when it rains. That’s just how it goes living in this part of the world. We're just here on The Mall doing our thing. It keeps us busy and we don't mind the work one bit even when it gets late.
