N S Engineering Industries is over here at C-12 in the MIDC Industrial Area on Hingna Road. Nagpur gets really hot, so the workshop can be a tough place to be in the middle of the afternoon, but we get on with it. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. Most days it’s just the sound of the machines and the guys talking over the noise. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always trucks moving around and people rushing to get things done before the day ends. We handle a lot of engineering work that people bring us. Sometimes it’s small parts, other times it’s bigger projects that take up a lot of floor space. My desk is usually covered in papers and drawings that I need to look at. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It’s just a practical space where the work happens. People know where to find us because we’ve stayed in the same place at Hingna Road for so long. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the shifts. The floor gets dusty and there’s always some grease around, but that’s just how an engineering shop is. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can without making mistakes. It’s a busy life here in Nagpur, but we like being part of the local industrial community. We just show up, do the work, and go home to our families at night. It's a living.
