We’ve been here at D-15 in the M.I.D.C. Industrial Area for quite a while now. It’s a busy spot, always noisy with the sound of machines running and trucks backing in and out. Most of us here have grease under our fingernails by lunch, but that’s just how it goes when you’re working with metal all day. We started small, just a couple of lathes and a lot of coffee, trying to figure out how to make things work better. The shop floor isn't fancy. There’s dust in the corners and the fans never seem to move quite enough air in the summer, but the machines are solid. People around the area know where we are because of the big blue door that sticks a bit when it’s raining. We don't spend much time on fancy paperwork or big meetings. Usually, it’s just someone coming in with a part that needs fixing or a drawing that’s a bit smudged, asking if we can get it done by Tuesday. Sometimes we can, sometimes it takes a bit longer if a part doesn't arrive on time. We just try to keep the lights on and the tools sharp. It's a simple life here in the industrial zone, but it's what we know. We’ve seen other shops come and go, but we just keep showing up, turning the power on, and getting to work. It’s nothing spectacular, just honest work done by people who’ve been doing it for years.
