St Philomenas College

St Philomenas has been a fixture here in Mysore for a long time. Our address on B N Road in the New Banimantap Extension is pretty well known to anyone who lives around here. The college has this old-school feel to it, with high ceilings and corridors that have seen thousands of students over the years. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stand, but the area is a bit quieter than the city center. We spend a lot of our time managing the day-to-day stuff that comes with an old institution. There is always a leaky pipe to fix or a library shelf that needs organizing. The staff room is a bit of a mix of older teachers who have been here forever and younger ones just starting out. We don't really go for all that modern corporate branding. We’re just a college where people come to get their degrees. You’ll see students sitting on the stone benches during lunch, and there’s always a bit of a crowd at the gate when classes let out. It’s a place with a lot of history, but we don't spend too much time thinking about that. We’re too busy with exam forms, attendance records, and making sure the classrooms are opened on time. It’s a solid, practical place to be. We just keep the doors open and do the work that’s been done here for decades.
