Our school is tucked away in Vidya Shankar Layout, part of the Sathagalli area in Mysore. It’s a quiet neighborhood, which is nice for a school. We call it Kodagu Model School, and we’ve been here for a few years now. The building is a bit tucked back from the main road, so you have to look for the sign at the corner. We have a small paved area in front where the school van parks. Inside, the walls are covered with posters about the solar system and parts of a flower. They are a bit dusty. We have a small library with some old encyclopedias that the kids like to look at. The benches are made of iron and wood, and they make a lot of noise when the kids move them around. We try to keep things organized, but with so many children, it gets messy by lunchtime. The staff room is tiny, just enough space for a table and a few chairs where we eat our lunch. We share stories about the kids and talk about the upcoming tests. We don't have a big auditorium, so we do our functions in the open courtyard. It works fine as long as it doesn't rain. We are just a local Mysore school trying to do right by the families who trust us. It's a lot of responsibility, but we enjoy the work most days. The gate needs a new coat of paint soon. We have a small cupboard for first aid.
