You’ll find Jss High School over in Siddarthanagar, specifically on Suguna Marga in the 2nd Stage. Mysore is a big city, but this corner of it feels a bit more like a regular neighborhood. Our building is at number 1047. It’s a solid structure, though we’ve had to paint it a few times over the years to keep it looking okay for the neighbors. The street outside gets busy in the mornings when the buses come through. We’ve got a lot of students, so there’s always a bit of a crowd at the entrance during drop-off. Inside, the classrooms are packed with benches and blackboards. We don’t use any of those fancy digital boards; we just stick to chalk and talk because it works well enough for us. The teachers here have been around for a long time. Some of them even taught the parents of the kids who are here now. It gives the place a bit of history that you don’t find everywhere. We’ve got a small office where we handle all the paperwork, which never seems to end. There’s always someone coming in to ask about admissions or to pay fees. We try to keep things moving as best we can. On rainy days, the water tends to pool up near the back door, so we have to put out some bricks for people to walk on. It’s just one of those things you deal with in an older building.
