Hotel Siddharta

Hotel Siddharta is located on Guest House Road in the Nazarbad area. It is a nice part of town, relatively quiet compared to the main market area. We have been operating here for a good number of years. The building is solid and has that old-style feel to it that you find in this part of the city. We have some plants out front that I try to keep watered when the weather gets dry. Inside, it is all pretty straightforward. We have a lobby with some old wooden furniture and a clock that ticks a bit loud. The rooms are what you would expect—beds, a fan or maybe an AC if you are in those rooms, and a small TV. We do not have any of that corporate polish or scripted greetings. When you walk in, you just talk to whoever is behind the counter, usually me or my nephew. We spend a lot of time talking to the regular guests who come back every year for the festivals. It feels more like a house sometimes than a hotel. We do not offer much besides a place to sleep and maybe a tip on where to get the best coffee down the street. It is a simple operation. We make sure the sheets are fresh and the water is running. If you want a fancy experience, this is not it, but if you want a local spot that has been here forever, we fit the bill.
