Hotel Kingskourt,Mysore

Our place is on Valmiki Road over in V.V. Mohalla in Mysore. It’s a pretty quiet area compared to the city center which is nice for the people staying with us. We have the usual hotel routine every morning. The staff starts by cleaning the lobby and getting the breakfast ready in the kitchen. You can usually hear the sound of buckets and mops early on. We have a lot of rooms to look after and there is always a light bulb to change or a tap that needs fixing. The building has been here for a while so it has some quirks. We spend a lot of time at the front desk talking to travelers and telling them how to get to the palace or the gardens. It’s not a fancy five-star place but we keep it clean. In the evenings, the street outside gets a bit more life as people walk around the neighborhood. We sit in the back office sometimes and go over the bookings for the next week. The furniture is a bit old-fashioned but comfortable enough. We get all sorts of guests, from families on holiday to people here for work. It’s just a steady job for us at Hotel Kingskourt,Mysore, making sure the beds are made and the towels are fresh. Mysore is a calm city and we try to keep that same feeling inside our walls every single day.
