Hotel Coorg International

We are up here on Convent Road in Madikeri. Being in Coorg, the weather is usually the first thing people talk about when they arrive. It gets very misty and cold in the evenings, so we spend a lot of time making sure there are enough heavy blankets in the rooms. The hotel is a bit older, so it has that lived-in feel. We aren't right in the middle of the noisy market, which is something our guests usually appreciate. My day involves walking around the property, checking on the garden, and making sure the kitchen has enough supplies. We get a lot of families coming up from the cities who just want to see the greenery. The roads around here can be a bit winding and tricky, so we often find ourselves giving directions to the local waterfalls or coffee estates. Sometimes the electricity goes out when there is a big storm, and we have to scramble to get the generator going. It is a quiet life compared to the city. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just a handful of us who live nearby and work here. We try to keep things simple and honest. The rooms are large enough for families, and the air always smells like rain and earth. It’s a practical place for anyone wanting to see this part of the hills.
