Hotel Coorg International

We are located right on Convent Road in Madikeri. If you are looking for the hotel, it’s not too far from the main post office. This part of Coorg is usually quite cool and green, which is nice for people visiting. We have rooms for guests and a kitchen where we make local food. It’s an older building, so it has some character, maybe a squeaky door here and there. We’ve been running this place for a while now. The staff mostly live nearby in the town. We don’t have those fancy automated systems you see in the big city hotels, we just use a ledger and talk to folks when they walk in. Sometimes the monkeys come around the back garden, so you have to keep the windows shut if you have fruit. It gets busy during the holidays when people come up from Bangalore to escape the heat. We spend a lot of time cleaning and making sure the blankets are fresh because it gets cold at night here. We aren't a five-star resort, just a regular place to sleep and eat. My uncle started this place years ago and we just kept it going. We like meeting the travelers who pass through. It’s a simple business. We try to keep the coffee hot and the rooms tidy. That’s about it for us here in Madikeri.
