Hotel Sandesh The Prince is tucked away at No. 3, Nehtra Nivas in the Nazarbad area. It’s a bit of a different feel here compared to the busier parts of the city. Nazarbad has its own pace and we’ve been part of it for some time. The name sounds a bit grand, but we are just a regular place where people come to stay. The building has a certain look to it, maybe a bit dated, but it’s solid. We see a lot of families coming through, especially during the festival seasons. Our staff is mostly local guys who know the streets of Mysore well. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. We just manage things from the desk. Sometimes the courtyard gets a bit dusty when the wind picks up, and we spend our mornings sweeping it out. The rooms are a decent size, though the furniture has its share of scratches and marks from over the years. We try to keep things okay for a night’s sleep. People often ask us for directions to the palace or the market, and we just tell them how to get there the shortcut way. It’s a practical place to stay if you don't want to be in a big, cold hotel. It feels more like a house that just happens to have a lot of extra rooms for guests to use.
