Sri Chamundeshwari Restaurant

Our restaurant is on Pulikeshi Road, right in the New Bamboo Bazar area of Mysore. We are very close to the Duff and Dum school. I’ve lived in this neighborhood for most of my life. Opening this place was just a natural thing to do. We get a lot of workers from the bazaar coming in for a quick bite. It’s a busy street with a lot of noise from the shops nearby. We serve mostly local veg meals. The menu doesn't change much from day to day. We have the usual rice, sambar, and a couple of vegetable sides. My wife handles the accounts and I stay in the kitchen mostly. The building is old but we try to keep it tidy. Sometimes the rain leaks a bit near the back door, but we fixed that last month. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just walk in when they are hungry. It’s a small operation. We know many of our customers by name since they work just down the road. It feels more like a community spot than a business sometimes. We just keep the stoves going and make sure there is enough food for everyone who stops by. It’s simple and it works for us. If you are near New Bamboo Bazar, you can’t miss the smell of the tempering. We keep things basic and focused on the daily lunch rush.
