Ruchi Mess

Our place, Ruchi Mess, is tucked away in Shivarampet over in Devaraja Mohalla. It’s right near that big More Mega Store, so it’s easy enough to find if you’re out shopping. We’ve been at building 1495 for quite some time now. Mysore is a busy city, and this area especially stays active all day long. We aren’t a big restaurant with waiters in uniforms or anything like that. It’s just a mess. People come in, sit down, and eat. We serve the kind of food we eat at home. Nothing too spicy, just regular meals. The kitchen is always busy from early morning until we close up. We see a lot of students and office workers who don’t have time to cook for themselves. Sometimes it gets a bit loud when everyone is talking at once, but we don't mind. The building is old but we try to keep it tidy. It's a family-run kind of thing. My brother and I handle most of the daily chores. We don't have a huge menu, just a few items that we know how to make well. It's a simple life here in Mysore. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but Ruchi Mess stays pretty much the same. If you’re near the mega store and feeling hungry, you can just stop by. There’s no need to call ahead or anything. We just keep things practical and serve what we have ready for the day.
