Mysore Dhonne Biryani Restaurant

Our restaurant is located at No.1482 on Vinoba Road in the Shivarampet area of Mysore. It’s right in the middle of Devarajan Mohalla, which is a very crowded part of the city. We have been here for a while now, serving biryani to the local shoppers and workers. This branch is usually very busy because of all the markets nearby. We don't have any fancy furniture. It’s just simple tables and benches where people can sit down and eat quickly. The dhonne leaves are delivered every morning and we use a lot of them. The cooks start early, around 6 am, to get the meat and rice ready for the lunch crowd. It’s a hot and loud kitchen, but that’s just how it is. We don't have any air conditioning, so the fans are always on full blast. Our staff works long hours and they are always on their feet. We don’t have a marketing department or a fancy logo. Most people just know us by the smell of the spices coming from the shop. Sometimes we run out of biryani before the day is over, and we just have to tell people to come back tomorrow. We aren't trying to be a corporate chain. We are just a local shop in Shivarampet trying to earn a living. It’s a busy life, but we like being in the heart of the city. We hope to stay here for a long time serving our neighbors.
