Wood Designer

Our workshop is located in the Ghosh Compound, right near the Royal Academy School in Jai Bhim Nagar. It’s off Gen. A.K.V. Marg in Goregaon East. Finding us can be a bit tricky the first time because the entrance to the compound is easy to miss if a truck is parked in front. Once you get inside, you’ll hear the sound of saws and the smell of fresh wood shavings. It’s a dusty place, and no matter how much we sweep, there’s always a thin layer of sawdust on everything by the end of the day. We work in a fairly tight space, so we have to be careful about where we stack the lumber. The school nearby means there’s a lot of noise from kids during their break times, which adds to the general bustle of the area. We have a couple of workbenches that have been around since we started, and they’ve got plenty of scratches and stains on them. We don’t have a showroom or anything like that. If you want to see what we are doing, you just have to look at whatever project is currently on the floor. It’s a very hands-on environment. The lights are those long fluorescent tubes that hum a little bit, but they give us enough light to see what we’re cutting. It’s just a basic wood shop where we spend our hours making things.
